Becca & Andy: "It only takes one!"

Becca and Andy were married December 10, 2016. Jdate is so happy to have played a part in their love story and wishes them every happiness. Mazel tov!

How did you meet? What was your first date like? Give us all the details!

Becca was so over Jdate. It was exhausting. Her subscription was about to expire, and she was NOT going to renew it (sorry, Jdate).

But wait. On February 17, 2013, she received a “Flirt” from “ASingleEntendre,” a profile she had never seen before. Okay, three points for the screen name. She responded to let him know she would soon be off the website, but he could e-mail her to continue the conversation, which he actually did!

After several days of emailing and joking back and forth, their first date was at the pottery-painting studio Color Me Mine – a fluke, since Becca had suggested the idea only as a joke. As luck would have it, they arrived 30 minutes after the last call for new projects, so instead they headed to a nearby bar.

On the way, Andy heroically saved Becca’s life by pulling her away from a crazy SUV trying to pull into a gas station. They schmoozed and laughed and got to know each other over drinks for three hours. Andy then walked Becca to her car and kissed her goodnight on the street, as two teenagers passing by catcalled.

The dates kept coming: bowling, beach strolls, nights on the Santa Monica Pier, Disneyland, bed and breakfasts … and plenty of sitting around and binging on Netflix shows while eating pizza. Andy and Becca fell in love. On December 17, 2015, Andy proposed to Becca on a candlelit dock in the Cayman Islands on a trip with her family. It was absolutely perfect. They got married in Austin, Texas on December 10, 2016!
