It was a Friday evening. He was in Long Island, relaxing on his couch, minding his own business. She was in Baltimore, casually scrolling through Jdate’s recommended suitors.
He had me at Bourbon.
It was the handsome picture that drew me in, admittedly, but it was what I read in his profile that really peaked my interest. I was laughing out loud by the end of the first paragraph, a good sign.
I continued to scroll down to learn more about this attractive and witty man. My next move was to send him a message.
This is the point in the story I discover that he did not exactly live around the corner. My initial intention, I wasn’t looking for a long distance relationship. I believed the app was presenting me with people in the area, but in fact it was showing me people that were online at that moment in time.
I could take a chance on a person who lived 200 miles away.
I had a choice, I could continue the search to find someone in a closer proximity, or I could take a chance on a person who lived 200 miles away.
I chose the latter, without a doubt, the best decision made to date.
